KIDS HEADSHOTS TORONTO – ETHAN F.

KIDS HEADSHOTS TORONTO – ETHAN F. – Headshots for kids is just something I started doing for other children and families during 2020. When we couldn’t shoot indoors, I had to do something that I could do in daylight, and you know I won’t do a family session unless it’s golden hour or overcast.  Harsh light shouldn’t be a thing during sessions. Clients hoping to do family sessions earlier in the day would be subject to open shade (under a tree) or my favourite is the fall time, when the sunsets earlier in the day. Sometimes that’s better for the families who are a strict bedtime schedule.

Fast forward to three years later and here I am. Just LOVING headshots. Every child client I have had for headshots brings it. They are Actors, so they know what’s up. Professional, hardworking kids, that usually love being in front of the camera. I made it my mission to find a spot I could use with cool textures and where the light wasn’t harsh during the day. My next location will be an alleyway with a fire escape staircase.

When we left for Halifax, I met so many great kids out East too. So if we ever venture back there, I will be opening up some spots as well. At the beginning, I only offered Headshots to children, but recently I did a headshot session for current client of mine for her new job, and I just am obsessed with them. I will be rolling out different blog posts to showcase these hardworking, talented kids who deserve all the recognition.

First up is this session I did of Ethan recently. This is Ethan’s second time coming to me for headshots. His mom is the sweetest, and she was so patient while she waited for my headshot availability to open (we only do Headshots April – November).  What a handsome dude. And did I mention he can DANCE? best dancer I know. True story. You can read more about Ethan HERE.

DURHAM FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER – THE ALLEN FAMILY

DURHAM FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER – THE ALLEN FAMILY – ahhhh This scheduled post thing is where it’s at. I am writing this blog the same day I wrote This Blog entry and This Blog entry. Life is wonderful. This adorable family came to me for an outdoor family session during the Fall of 2020. These particular images were the following year 2021. The light we got that day was what I hope and pray for, for every outdoor session I do before sunset. It warms my heart when I have repeat clients, and I can confidently say 99% of them are repeat clients, so we build a level of trust. When I ask a client if they’d like something and they say “oh whatever you think, I trust you.” It really does mean that they have faith in what I come up with. They aren’t stressed about their gallery I will deliver and they are relaxed during our time together. When you stop and think about that, it’s endearing. So thank you Allen Family.

Of course this session is older, and they have since welcomed a little sister for James. I will of course do a separate blog post for Lily. and their newest sibling milestone session (Lily is now sitting!) I took last month, and their first session. One foot in front of the other on this blog train.

DURHAM REGION OUTDOOR NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY – WELCOME EMMETT

DURHAM REGION OUTDOOR NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY – WELCOME EMMETT – What?! two weeks in a row for blogging. I’ve discovered a secret. Scheduled posts.  It’s so much easier to spend an hour blogging a bunch of sessions once a month than to sit down and dedicate time each week. As you can see my very few blog posts every year. It’s sad really, all my sessions and gorgeous clients deserve to be shouted from the rooftops. So I’m raising a glass to scheduled Blog Posts.

I know, I talk about how much a I love my clients, and this family is no different.  Very honoured they all  come from Mississauga for their sessions. I think I may have done her sessions out of order, because this session took place in 2020, when we weren’t allowed to do indoor sessions, but outdoor was ok. I am thankful we were able to do them and the weather was warm to keep Emmett cozy.

Can we just take a second to recognize sweet Lylah, the big sis? She is such a good listener, and puts up with my corny jokes when we do sessions. She is such a fun kid and I remember  how on this night she reminded me so much of myself when I was that age. My brother was was also born quite a few years after me, so it reminded me of us. I am happy to say I just did a mini session of these two siblings. Emmett is so fun and goofy, and they bring out a lot of energy in each other. I also let them jump on my studio bed, I’m fun like that.

Durham Region Newborn Photographer – Welcome Evelyn

Durham Region Newborn Photographer – Welcome Evelyn.  When Felicity told me she was expecting a sibling for Sam, I was over the moon ecstatic for their beautiful growing family.  I’ve been photographing Sam since he was a wee one, and just knew he’d be a great big brother. I couldn’t wait to hear what they would call their new baby as I always loved the name Sam (Hence why I named my new doggy Sam), and Sam was always such a Ham at his sessions with me. They decided on the name Evelyn, and I just love it. It’s suits this little peach so much! When I say she was just as much a charmer as her big brother, I kid you not.

So just to be transparent, this session was taken some time ago, I’m just really bad at blogging. I wish I had someone to hire to do strictly blogging for me. I just finished up Evelyn’s milestone proofing gallery last week and hopefully by the end of the year I will get to blog those! ha.  I was also happy to use my Lowe’s panel boards for the floor, I picked up over the border. Sucked having to cut it in two pieces but I was determined to get it home in time for her session.  So worth it.

Welcome Evelyn, you couldn’t be more perfect, and more loved.

Durham Region Baby Photographer | Cake Smash Ayden

Durham Region Baby Photographer | Ayden Turns ONE! –  Can I just start off by saying I love this family so much. I have had the pleasure of watching this family grow for the past 4 years and I am so thankful they stumbled upon my little website and decided I was the Photographer for them.

Ayden is their second little babe, and his older sister, Alyana, has been coming to me shortly after birth. I’m sure you’ve seen her on my website and social media post. When Ayden turned One, it was only standard practice we document this milestone.

I can honestly say I don’t think Ayden has the ability to cry. He’s such a happy baby, here is just one of the many images we captured during his session. Mom opted for both a portrait session and cake smash at the end, and he did a phenomenal job of demolishing that cake.  I will share more once his session comes up for edit in the queue.  The photo below it is his 3 month session.

Both outfits are from the Studio Wardrobe, available for all clients to use.

Smash cake from HERE.
