MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHER TORONTO AREA | BABY D – It was so nice to meet and work with this sweet couple who made the trip into the city from Milton! Jen and Chris are expecting their first child and I can already tell this babe is loved beyond words.  Arriving at our chosen destination, we were so shocked to see the area of choice was completely flooded. There was essentially no beach. I have to admit, having never been in this situation before, my heart started to race.  Thankfully, I was able to visualize other areas of the park that were equally gorgeous for these images.

WARDROBE

When I first saw them, I noticed instantly how both mom and dad followed our what to wear guide. They looked great. Like most couples, we discussed wardrobe before hand, so naturally I already knew what their outfits looked like their cell phone images. The photos didn’t really do their outfits justice though. Jen brought her own dress, her lace shawl and floral headpiece was borrowed from the studio wardrobe. I can’t stress enough that wardrobe plays a HUGE huge HUGE part of the session, and it’s so important to take advantage of your wardrobe consult with me.  I’m here and happy to help!

But, I mean, c’mon, isn’t Jen Gorgeous? Looking forward to meeting their baby boy this summer!

TORONTO FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER | 2017 OUTDOOR PROMO. Over the colder months, I heard way too many moms state they haven’t had a family photo taken in “forever”. Well, our 2017 outdoor promotion may just be the thing that falls into your lap today. These sessions were announced a little while back and I’m so glad that many families took advantage. It will be so nice to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones.

Our home is filled with our families portraits all over our walls. And, although I’m not a “fan” of behind in front of the lens – most certainly would rather be behind it – I know the importance of being IN the photo for my family and for my children. Since it is nearly impossible to do your own family photos (hair dressers I feel your pain of not being able to do your own work), I too, have to hire other Professionals to do our photos. Each year, when we travel, I hire a Professional Photographer to capture images of us to document that special time. Twice in Florida and once in Punta Cana. Each year, in the fall we also do family photos for our holiday cards. I absolutely do take images of my husband and children on my own. Let’s face it there are wayyyyy more images of them then me. However, when it comes to doing mine, I hire someone. This year, we have booked a local Professional and a dear friend of mine.

WHY YOU SHOULD HAVE FAMILY PHOTOS TAKEN

I came across an article (Thanks Designaglow) that I found so interesting. It quoted a Child Psychologist and their opinion on WHY hanging images in your family home boosts children’s self esteem.  It does make sense though. Children are reminded how they belong to a family and how much they are loved, in addition to being shown and told. Parents, I encourage you to PRINT your family images when you receive the digital copies. I provide my clients the name of a vendor in Toronto that ships directly to your home and is open to the public, with professional quality. If you don’t have the time to print your photos, I can help you get them up on your walls for you. Just please, print your images. Hang them up, and enjoy them! Don’t let them sit on your hard drive or in your drawer on a USB.

Toronto Maternity Photography | Natalie

Toronto Maternity Photography | Natalie – I was so happy to meet Natalie and her husband Mark for this special session to celebrating the upcoming birth of their son. Mark and Natalie receive the cutest couple award. They were so smitten with each other and I think mark’s love grew even stronger for her during the shoot (if that was even possible). He was so genuinely excited for Natalie and her portraits, and I just know with all my heart these two, are going to make absolutely wonderful parents.

During the session:

Natalie was so open minded about what we’d be doing for her portrait session. She was so easy going and friendly to chat with. Every image I took of her, she was absolutely stunning in and I couldn’t wait to deliver her gallery to her.  A big congratulations to these two amazing people. You are beyond blessed.

Thank you for making the trip from Toronto to my studio. I cannot wait to work with you again!

Maternity Photography Toronto Durham Region  – When Paulina contacted me to do a maternity session for her, I was so pumped. It had been a while that I did a maternity session, and I was looking forward to put all my ideas that I have been collecting in my thoughts for  the past few months prior. Since my style is very clean and organically influenced, I knew that i wanted to avoid dark colours and distracting patterns for her session. We did some discussing back and fourth on what to wear and she was pleased that she didn’t have to bring much apart of her own undergarments.

When she arrived at the studio, she was as lovely as ever. She was so friendly and after we got into conversation, we realized we used to work at the same place (not at the same time) and knew the same people. What a small world. It’s amazing how past steps in life are merely only stepping stones for what our plan really has in store for us. Had I never worked there, I would have never gotten my next job, and so fourth and so on. Long story short we have both moved on, both owning our own businesses and Paulina is also a Pilates Instructor.

I’m looking forward to working with you again Paulina and meeting your loved ones next time!

Happy Birthday Adam | Toronto Durham Region Cake smash photographer

Happy Birthday Adam | Toronto Durham Region Cake smash photographer. I was so excited to see this handsome boy and his parents again. It was our 3rd full session together. I have to say he has grown so much but I can still tell that sweet face of his hasn’t changed much, only grown. It’s wonderful to know that each session we’ve done family images in addition to Adam’s portraits. He not only has a keepsake of how he looked at his newborn, 6 month and 1 year milestone, he has images with his parents and each parent at each stage too. Something most people can’t say they have.

This doesn’t refer to professional photos only, I encourage all parents, especially the ones who are usually taking the photo, albeit mom OR dad to jump in the photo with your child every now and then, even if it’s just a cell phone image. It doesn’t matter if you hair is a mess, or you’ve gained a few pounds that month. Trust me, your child doesn’t mind. And, years later, they still won’t care. We are our own worst critics. With all the images you see on Social media, many people end up comparing themselves to the professional portraits they see online,  mom has just had a blow out and hair all nicely set and curled, complete with a full make up application. Get in the Picture friends. Get in there!
