Toronto Family Photographer | Outdoor lifestyle Family Photography now booking

Toronto Family Photographer | Outdoor lifestyle family photography now booking – I am so pleased that today is the first day of Spring. Oh, I have been waiting for what seems like forever for this day to come. It’s been a frigid winter, and I am more than ready for the warm weather to arrive. Despite this morning feeling like minus 12 degrees, it was a day full of sun, and therefore it didn’t seem so bad cold. At school pick up, my daughter didn’t come out with hats or her mittens on, so that surely has to be a sign that warm weather is just around the corner, right?

Outdoor sessions have started to book. I am so excited to be adding a couple of beach front hot spots to my location roster. I now have located beautiful waterfront locations in Bowmanville, Oshawa, Whitby, Pickering and Toronto.  For the 2018 outdoor spring and summer season, I have availability for the following:

May weekends + evenings, June, July + August weekday evenings, and September weekend and weekday evenings.

All of my outdoor sessions in the evening before sunset, giving that lovely golden glow.

Check out some of the images from last years outdoor sessions below. Hope to see you this season for some Family Outdoor portraits.

Award Winning Photographer | Best Newborn Photographer

Award Winning Photographer | Best Newborn Photographer – I didn’t get around to blogging about the awards I have been honoured to receive the  past two years 2016 & 2017! I am so grateful and humble for all of the voters who chose me for this. THANK YOU! Since opening my studio, I have been so fortunate to have met so many amazing families.  It’s hard to call this job work.

I was contacted by Metroland and This week Newspapers,  who informed me, I had been voted best Photography studio in our amazing town of Clarington.  I found it ironic though, even though my studio is in Bowmanville, the majority of my clients are from Toronto.  I’m not sure if Toronto has Reader’s choice awards, but I’m sure glad we do.

It did however get me thinking: Do clients notice these types of things? Does it help potential clients decisions’ book you based on these achievements? I’ve never really asked a client if they noticed that.  “Did you know I won an award for the best Photographer in my area?” isn’t something I can see myself saying. Ever.  So I suppose I’ll never really know how much it helps, but it sure does make my heart happy that I was thought of. There are a lot of talented Photographers in Durham Region, so I accepted it with gratitude.

I do admit, while I did place the Ad in the paper thanking the voters, I never really did see the ad in person. The end of 2017 was such a busy one, that I didn’t pick up a newspaper all season.  Admittedly, I ran out of time when the ad was due at the paper to run, so I changed a few things from the ad the year before and presto!

Thanks again for voting. I’ve included just a small sample of my 2017 year with newborns. I know I left a ton of sessions out of the collage, so I apologize. This was total random and what I had readily available on my local drive.

Toronto Newborn Photography | In Home Lifestyle

Toronto Newborn Photography | In Home Lifestyle – I am so excited to blog about this beautiful in-home session I did recently.  When I first walked into their beautiful home, I could tell it was going to be a great session. The house was gorgeous and newly renovated. The Dad was pumped (it’s always a breath of fresh air when dad is a willing participant) and big sister was bouncing around. I typically do a walk through the home to see where the best spot for light is, but this home did not disappoint. With many places for light, we settled on the master bedroom. All the rooms were gorgeous, even their back porch area was a good candidate for the session to take place. I can really use any spot with a big window and light paint on the walls.

Toronto Newborn Photography | In Home Lifestyle  – I have many tricks up my sleeve to get a toddler giggling but this session was a first for me. Running down their hardwood floored hallway, I went flying on my back with my slippery socks. I’m not sure I laughed so hard at a session in my life… I was also happy to have made the parents laugh, I wish we caught it on camera. Whatever it takes to make your natural smile come out, I have no shame apparently.

Throughout the session, mom and I chatted about so many things. It made the time go by so fast, as if I were photographing old friends. Isla slept for most of the session so we were able to get  sleepy images of her as well as lifestyle images. Parents always hope for the sibling kissing the baby image. Most of the time, my charm and negotiating skills work wonders, but it wasn’t necessary. Big sister Lola was more than happy to show love to her new baby, and it just melted my heart.  At the very end of the session, this terrific family sent me home with delicious gourmet pizza. As if they weren’t amazing enough!

Check out some of the images that we created during their session. <3

Newborn Photography in Durham Region | Welcome Baby Noah

Newborn Photography in Durham Region | Welcome Baby Noah – When Noah and his parents arrived at the studio, I couldn’t get enough of that sweet little face of his.  The big cheeks, full head of hair, and beautiful complexion,  just look at him! I was so thankful my girl, Christina, from HG rushed me this adorable little hat (the reindeer one) just in time for his session. She really came though for me after it being such a last minute request. (Can you picture me tracking the hat on an hourly basis?) We used it so many times and it’s become a favourite of mine.

Noah slept like a champ during his session (as you can clearly see). He didn’t mess around, all business, we even managed to get in a few awake shots and smiles too. Mom and dad were just in awe of him, and smitten with every cuddle. Babies like this make me want a third of my own.

I’d love to discuss with you on how we can set up your Newborn Session either in my commercial studio loft or the comfort of your own home!

Toronto In Home Newborn Session | High Park Photographer

Toronto In Home Newborn Session | High Park Photographer | Welcome Quinn – I remember being so excited for this session. The anticipation was leading up to the shoot was pretty large. Mama had sent me photos of their home and where I’d be working prior to the shoot, and I feel in love with their decor and style. Parents often choose in home Photography after their little one arrives because it is so convenient for them. Not having to pack everything up and leave the house with a newborn in tow (or any baby for that matter) is pure gold. I enjoy meeting families in their home, you get a sense of who they are, what they like, their style and visualize where they’d like to hang certain products on their walls.

Since this home was so bright, newly renovated with neutral decor, there were so many places in their home to do the session.  I don’t need a lot of space just a room with lots of light and neutrally painted walls (preferably white). I once did a session in a closed off heated porch.  During the session, Quinn was the sweetest baby. Mom and I chatted along and dad was an all-star husband for more reasons than one. I am so happy to have met this sweet family. And even more happy to have had them travel to my studio for their holiday photos last month. Here are some images from their Toronto In Home Newborn Session.  Want to schedule your Upcoming Newborn In Home Session? Contact me through my contact page or my Facebook page.

I look forward to meeting you and capturing your newborns first portraits <3

Much Love, Stephanie
